Sky Discovery is celebrating 10 years of brilliant people and countless pixels of data 🟦
Not that long ago, discovery meant documents, emails, hard drives and filing cabinets. In 2016, from an apartment in Sydney, our four founders decided to take on the mission to make discovery better and lawyers’ lives easier. For ten years, we’ve operated at the intersection of data, discovery and the law. We’ve seen it all, we were there when ‘e’ was prefixed to everything from email, e-introduction, e-meet, and eDiscovery.
There was a time when lawyers could focus more on the law. Time flies, and so does technology. Nowadays, nearly everything is discoverable. Innovation remains a priority for lawyers, but collecting and organising data is often complex and inefficient. The specialised area of discovery demands swift, defensible execution. In many ways, it is not actually lawyering. Now, with AI on the rise, it is simultaneously powerful and problematic.
In our vertical, traditional and manual legal processes have continued to collide with bleeding-edge technology and increasingly unrealistic expectations that everything should have happened yesterday. Some things never change. Sky Discovery have always focused on solutions so you can focus on the law. We make our team, your team. We make the technical, practical.
As we reflect on a decade of innovation, we’re also celebrating our community; we wouldn't be where we are without the brilliant team, clients, and collaborators we work alongside. Thank you to everyone, past and present, who has contributed to our story. We could not be more grateful to be here.
